Mastering Interface Design

I've worked with Felipe at VMware Pivotal labs for almost a year. Felipe was a great designer, he knows what's needed and when. He is always able to lead design exercises in high professionalism. I had the pleasure to work with him on one of the projects, and it was a challenging one, but Felipe was able to successfully deliver what is needed by utilising his skills and best design practices. Based on my experience, Felipe was great in user research, brain storming sessions and building UIs using different tools. In addition to his skills in his field, Felipe is really friendly and openminded. I would really like to work with him in the future.

Felipe was instrumental in helping us to develop our design practice at Def Method (an agile software development consultancy). I had a chance to cooperate with Felipe on the most significant project at U+. From the beginning, I saw he is a very experienced designer. The communication, teamwork, skills in areas of UX and UI are at a really high level. I very much appreciate his reliability, professionalism and high-quality work. From my perspective, he helped U+ a lot in the areas of design processes and approach of UX (personas, user journeys etc.) when he inaugurated all of this on our project. I follow Felipe's work since the early days of his contributions to Choco la Design, a (former) top-rated blog in Brazil, targeting thousands of designers in the country. However, I met him for the first time in 2015 in Berlin, when we were running a world tour to introduce Project Comet, a brand new tool from Adobe that later became Adobe XD. You can see his drive and dedication by the way he speaks and engages with the community, always trying to share knowledge and inspire others. I highly recommend Felipe to any company looking for a passionate UX Designer with global experience, able to bring different perspectives to any project, alongside robust processes and methodologies targeting innovation and successful UX.

Felipe made guest appearances on our team and was super helpful and insightful during his brief time with us. Felipe is a phenomenally talented and knowledgeable designer who passed on so many points of insight and wisdom during our time together. His designs are sharp and clean and he has a great mind for problem-solving, but I think what he’s truly great at is soft skill building and developing a team with meticulous attention to detail and structure. I’m still using tricks he taught me around customer interviews and the definition process. Felipe is also fantastic about radical candor, he’s very open and honest and unafraid to tell you when you’re going down the wrong path, which is an extraordinarily important resource to have. He was a wonderful presence on our team and I recommend him highly.

Felipe and I worked together on a high stakes project in a large client. Felipe joined when the discovery groundwork was done but the level of ambiguity still challenged us, as our design sprints took longer than expected. Felipe ramp up super quickly in the project, organised our Figma workspace and helped make the design sprints feel so much simpler. As a product manager, there were less pressure on me from stakeholders, velocity recovered and team morale went up. Working with Felipe was an extremely positive experience, which I recommend for any product team.

I hired Felipe last year and It's been a pleasure to work with him at Pivotal Labs and see him developing his skills over that time. Since joining the team, Felipe has worked in various challenging engagements including product delivery and client enablement. Felipe always provided support to the team by jumping in on a few projects and offer design help to engineers and PM colleagues. He was also actively involved in hiring team members which was a great support for me personally.
